Joining us for a conversation, Ben Lagden, GT Clocks’ VP Commercial, sheds light on how our solutions have transformed employee interaction, fostering a more positive work environment.

With over 35 years of expertise, GT Clocks has been at the forefront of providing Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions across diverse geographic and vertical markets. Our mission is to alleviate challenges faced by HCM application providers in showcasing and delivering their products. At GT Clocks, the Professional Services Team tailors the user experience to partners’ specific requirements.

Brand Customization and User Experience

The flexibility of branding options allows devices to be customized for larger end-user clients, seamlessly incorporating logos, names, or brand colors. The goal is to transform the time clock experience into a genuine extension of the broader customer journey.

Advantages of GT Clocks in Human Capital Management

GT Clocks’ hardware prioritizes longevity and reliability, designed for high-traffic, always-on environments – a crucial distinction from cheaper alternatives or tablets. When paired with our GT Connect platform, it significantly reduces the total cost of ownership, impacting:

  • Integration Costs: A modular approach minimizes development, facilitating a swift market launch at both clock and cloud levels.
  • Asset Management: Streamlined estate management enables effortless deployment of security updates, feature enhancements, and configuration changes.
  • Proactive Support: Analytical insights identify issues before they surface, revolutionizing remote support capabilities for quick issue resolution.

Addressing Buddy Punching and Data Protection Challenges

Buddy punching, accounting for 2.2% of total payroll, is effectively addressed through biometric solutions, despite concerns around data protection. GT Connect ensures compliance with privacy-enhancing technology, enforcing processes around consent, retention, and deletion of necessary biometric data, allowing businesses to capitalize on savings while minimizing risk.

GT Clocks: Powerful HCM Solutions

GT Clocks offers a diverse range of HCM hardware suitable for every environment and budget:

GT4

Designed for small to medium enterprises, the GT4 is an affordable, fully-featured workforce management clock at an entry-level. Featuring a high-resolution 4.3” color screen with 8 soft function keys, this device allows for the configuration of multiple nested menu structures, facilitating the capture and display of time & attendance and Employee Self Service (ESS) data. The GT4 offers a variety of reader technologies, including an integrated fingerprint biometric device, ensuring robust security and employee verification.

GT8

The GT8 is powered by the Android 10 operating system, enabling seamless running of Android apps through various frameworks. This functionality expands the horizons for clients who have previously invested in mobile development and self-service applications.

GT Clocks takes a versatile approach to app development, offering three options: utilizing our standard ‘off-the-shelf’ application, collaborating with Partners and our Professional Services team to develop a tailored app, or allowing Partners to create their own in-house app.

With rich functionality, employers can leverage the GT8 to support self-service applications, deliver motivational and informative audio-visual content, facilitate training modules, manage booking services, and enhance employee engagement for all staff members in their organization.

The GT8’s adaptable and open platform makes it suitable for deployment as a user-friendly kiosk in various market sectors. The integration of secure physical user identification, coupled with access to web-based functionality, not only improves the overall user experience but also provides avenues for accessing services, driving efficiency, and generating additional revenue streams.

GT10

The GT10 clock boasts a substantial ‘kiosk’ style screen crafted for intricate employee self-service applications. Available in both Linux and Android versions, it facilitates web-based functionality through its expansive 10” color touchscreen display. The GT10 incorporates a diverse range of reader technologies, including barcode, mag stripe, proximity, and advanced fingerprint and facial recognition biometrics.

Solving Unique Challenges

GT Clocks has addressed unique challenges in various sectors, such as:

  1. Salt Mines: Requiring industrial enclosures for clock protection.
  2. Prisons: Needing secure wall-mounted clocks to prevent potential use as weapons.
  3. Adult Entertainment Venues: Ensuring disabled facial recognition cameras.

Efficient Information Collection

GT Clocks provides secure methods for collecting workforce data at scale, offering real-time data to HCM partners. Clocks enforce different schedules, ensuring accurate pay based on predefined schedules within the HCM system.

Implementing web-based functionality that can be accessed via the secure user identification integrated into the clock allows real-time data to be presented on the device via a rich web experience while maintaining resilient offline data collection capabilities. Examples of the sort of data that can be presented via this web-based interface include vacation booking, schedule management, audio/video content, and training material.

Time Clocks vs Mobile Phone Technology

While mobiles are convenient, they pose accuracy and security issues. Time clocks offer significant savings and accuracy, providing a reliable, secure device designed, tested, and certified on your network.

The Last 5 Years: GT Clocks Perspective

Over the last half-decade, GT Clocks has been at the forefront of a significant industry shift marked by the swift integration of biometric technology. This transformative period was characterized by a heightened emphasis on touchless environments, driven primarily by the evolving global landscape. Notably, the onset of the pandemic fueled an initial surge in the demand for facial recognition technology as organizations sought ways to create safer workplaces.

However, as the world gradually returns to a semblance of normalcy, an interesting trend has emerged within the realm of biometrics. Despite the initial traction gained by facial recognition, there has been a discernible shift back to the reliability and practicality of finger biometrics. This return underscores the enduring value and effectiveness of fingerprint-based identification methods, showcasing the resilience and adaptability of biometric solutions in response to dynamic global challenges.

GT Clocks, throughout this transformative period, has played a pivotal role in navigating these shifts, providing innovative solutions that align with the evolving needs of businesses worldwide. As the industry continues to evolve, GT Clocks remains committed to staying at the forefront of technological advancements, ensuring that its offerings not only meet but exceed the expectations of a rapidly changing landscape.

What’s Next?

Security of PII data is crucial, with biometric security legislation emphasizing the strategic inclusion of data capture, processing, and storage in organizational security plans. GT Clocks sees the security of its devices and the GT Connect platform as an integral part of any organization addressing the need to maintain compliance with current (and future) legislation. The tight integration of our devices into the GT Connect platform ensures that very high levels of data security and encryption are applied at every stage of the workforce data management process.
